Anita Sulimanovic is a visual artist known for her site-specific sculptures and installations made with recycled materials and found objects. Born in 1972 in Croatia, she completed her BFA studies in sculpture at Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts. In 2004 she received an MFA in Sculpture from Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland, UK. She has exhibited in Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, South Korea, the UK and the US, and has created several public sculptures in stone and concrete. Anita is also the designer of the “Planet Award” sculpture for “BBC World Music Awards”. Upon immigrating to US, in 2009, she has shown her work in California, Hawaii, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. Anita is the founder of Studio 1.6 art school where she teaches studio art disciplines. She lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area.
